Offshoring & Near-Shoring of Bank Processes
Knowledge Genes® Case Study:
Customer

Top ten international bank.

Situation

Redeployment of processes to regions with lower labor costs.

Customer Problem

The customer wanted to deploy a large number of its processes to lower cost regions around the globe in order to maintain their competitive position and enable business continuity in the case of an emergency.  There were time and cost pressures as well as an imperative to minimize risk.

Solution

Knowledge Genes® rapidly created training materials by indexing documents, people and IT assets (and other resources) into a knowledge base of activities - all of the information the new workers require in the context of WHAT needs to be done, HOW and WHY

Implementation

The web based Knowledge Genes® Server enabled process knowledge to be documented centrally which could then be immediately accessed by the new remote workers.

Implications

The transfer of knowledge and skills was achieved much faster than could be achieved using conventional approaches.

Results and Returns

Using Knowledge Genes®, the processes were modeled and taken up by the new workers 3 to 4 times faster than could have been achieved using conventional approaches.  In the customer's own words, "For redeployment, the WHAT-HOW-WHY structure is ideal, enabling much more rapid knowledge transfer and better control compared to traditional systems."
